The love and support shown by donors from all around Middle Georgia is once again a clear example of how much people care about those less fortunate than themselves.
The Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia held a Mission Baby Shower on March 10th and asked our community to help provide items for new born babies as well as toddlers. We are overwhelmed by the volume of donations and humbled by the contributions. We received financial donations, clothing, toys, books, cribs, games, stuffed animals and more than 6,000 diapers raging in all sizes. We would estimate that roughly $8,000 in merchandise was donated.
In addition, several donors came into the Mission for a tour, most of which had never been inside. They had a chance to meet the staff, see some of our residents and witness the good work Jesus Christ is doing for all those that call the Mission home. Many donors stayed to enjoy some refreshments and visit with one another.
Several church’s, Tattnall Square Academy and local families held events prior to gather items. We cannot thank everyone enough for all they did to help out our current residents with little ones, the new moms who are expecting babies in April and May and future residents who have babies or will have a child while staying at the Mission.
