October 2016 Graduation

Oct. 17, 2016 |

On October 7th 2016 the Rescue Mission celebrated our 2016 fall graduating class.  These 10 special individuals have all completed our 9-12 month recovery program and are poised to conduct a healthy, productive and spiritually fulfilling life.

The graduation speaking was Warner Robins Mayor Mr. Randy Toms who gave a heartwarming and poignant talk about his life and how Christ has helped to guide him.  Mayor Toms was born and raised in Warner Robins, Georgia where he serves as an active minister. He is a 1979 graduate of Northside High School and earned his Associates Degree from Georgia Military College while working as a Fireman with the Warner Robins Fire Department. During his twenty-seven year tenure as a fireman, Randy worked with the Muscular Dystrophy Association for twenty years and emceed the televised event for ten years. In addition to serving his community, he is also a veteran of the United States Air Force. It was an honor to have him speak to our graduates.

We are so grateful to Mercer University for the use of the beautiful Willingham Chapel.  All of our graduates had a few moments to speak to the crowd about their experience at the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia.  They spoke of their journey with Christ, commitment to change and appreciation for the opportunity provided by our community, donors and supporters.
