Ride For Recovery

Sep. 23, 2016 |

Tuesday September 13th, The Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia welcomed The Ride for Recovery.  This 500 mile bike ride is from Lawrenceville, Georgia and ending in Orlando, Florida is an effort to increase awareness and understanding of mental and substance use disorders and celebrate the people who are recovering.

The Ride For Recovery was developed by Came To Believe Recovery Inc. as a means to build community around proven recovery. The Ride For Recovery initiative will continue throughout 2017 with four rides that will help expand Came To Believe Recovery’s existing network of community partners while raising the awareness of proven recovery solutions and the ways that individuals, families and communities can implement those solutions.

The stop at the Mission included visits with the riders and testimonials in the Chapel.  Attendees heard stories of recovery including the impact Jesus Christ has made in their lives.  Many who attended are on the same path thanks to being at the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia.    We are honored to have hosted the riders and their support.
